QUOD PARET Naturkundemuseum *Ottoneum | Kassel DE _ 2015 _ solo show

• SOLO SHOW curated by Elisabetta Pozzetti

The exhibition originates aiming to create a synergy between the Kassel province and Italy.

Supported by the Museum of Natural History – Ottoneum, the Landkreis Kassel and the Kasseler Sparkasse, the exhibition is curated by Elisabetta Pozzetti

Chiara Lecca has designed a structured path of contamination and dissemination across the museum halls, where several of her artworks interact with the permanent visual displays stimulating new senses and meanings.

The exhibition consists of works dated between 2008 and 2015, allowing an organic overview of the artist’s evolution. From Moths and butterflies (2008) to Peli superflui (2009), Ovo, Bowels (2010), Ovogenesi and Phasianis (2012), up to the series of Fake Marble and Bigbigbubble and the works prepared expressly for the German exhibition.

A wide array of materials is employed, yet all are connected by the same necessity: rebuild the relation between mankind and nature, dismantling those preconceptions and false beliefs – often generated by fear of diversity – that keep us in a deep contrast with the world we all belong to.

In the exhibition is also exposed the work Forma (Bitu), 2015, sprung from the special collaboration of Chiara Lecca with Jannis Kounellis. The work was devised after an intense discussion among the artist and master on the interconnections between food, art and survival.
